Auckland’s Coin & Banknote Dealership

Aventine is an Australasian numismatic firm established in the 2010s as a private venture by a group of coin collectors. Over the past decade, we have become synonymous with exceptional numismatic rarities in New Zealand.

Our first international appointment was in 2021 as an Authorized Dealer in Coins and Banknotes by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation) and PMG (Paper Money Guaranty), the world’s most trusted third-party grading services for coins and banknotes.

Our acquisition of the 1879 Bank of New Zealand £100—the previous record holder for the highest price paid for a New Zealand banknote—was featured in New Zealand Herald.

In 2024, Aventine expanded its global reach with a further international appointment as the official New Zealand Numismatic Agent for Spink & Son. 

We continue to serve as stewards of fine numismatics—highlighted especially in 2025 by the successful acquisition and repatriation of the first banknote issued by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, as well as being the first to assess an incredibly historic find of a Captain Cook Resolution and Adventure Medal unearthed up in Wellington that same year. 

In 2026, our former branch Aventine | Christchurch was transferred into a seperate entity, C&B Auctions, introducing a revolutionary auction model to the New Zealand market with 0% Buyer’s Premium.
