Spink hosts world-renowned public auctions for significant rarities and entire collections, offering unmatched access to a worldwide audience. 

With Aventine's domestic presence, we offer New Zealanders an unparalleled global advantage by maximizing their collection's visibility and value, all whilst dealing locally with New Zealand's market-leading numismatic firm. 

Step-by-Step Consignment Process

Initial Consultation: Contact us for a complimentary, no-obligation assessment of your item(s) for auction anywhere in New Zealand. Based on your specific needs, we can recommend the most suitable course of action — a consignment to Spink or a direct cash purchase.

Shipping & Administration: Once submitted, Aventine manages all logistics on your behalf — including secure shipping via private couriers or direct flights to London where required. All items are fully insured by Lloyd’s, ensuring comprehensive protection at every stage of the process.

Auction Placement: Following evaluation by Spink's independent specialists, we will advise on your item(s) most suitable placement in an upcoming auction.

Fees: Aventine offers market-leading commission rates in New Zealand — ranging from 0% for choice items to a maximum of 7.5%. This all-inclusive structure covers every aspect of the process with no hidden fees, including but not limited to:

• Aventine & Spink's Sale Commission
• Freight & Insurance  
• Applicable GST and VAT 
• Customs ( Import & Export ) Clearance and Duties 

Reserves: Vendor reserves can be arranged upon request to help ensure your item(s) meet your preferred minimum sale price.

Cash Advances: An interest-free cash advances may be offered to select clients upon request, subject to assessment of your items. 

Pre-Sale and Post-Sale Updates: Consigners/Sellers have live access to Spink's auction platform ( no sign-up required ), with full visibility of online sales results.

Settlement: Payment for item(s) sold through Spink is typically made within 45 working days of the auction’s close, subject to receipt of funds from the buyer. Expedited settlement options — including full payment within three working days — are available upon request.
