Spink & Son conducts world-renowned public auctions of numismatic rarities and complete collections. Significant and choice items are always welcome for inspection, either at our offices or by private appointment nationwide. We facilitate the consignment of important collectables to leading international numismatic auctions, while also offering direct purchase and private treaty options for clients.
The sales process
Contact us for a complimentary, no-obligation assessment of your item(s) from anywhere in New Zealand. Based on your requirements, we can recommend the most suitable route — typically an auction consignment or else a direct cash.
Once your items are with us, we handle every aspect of logistics — from secure shipping via private couriers through to direct flights to London. We maintain a comprehensive private insurance policy with HWS, specifically covering coins, banknotes, medals and precious metals.
Vendor reserves can be made available to ensure your item(s) meet your required minimum sale price.
An interest-free cash advance may be offered to select clients on request as well as a premium settlement advance.
Consignors have live access to Spink's auction platform, with no sign-up needed and full visibility of online sale results.
Payment for items sold through Spink is typically made within 55 working days after the auction closes, following a successful sale. Our bankers, BNZ, calculate foreign-exchange rates. Contact us to enquire about our complimentary, interest-free and fee-free outright cash advance for your item(s).
Commission
Aventine offers one of New Zealand's most competitive commission structures. Our all-inclusive rates are determined by your item's realised (hammer) price and cover every stage of the sales process.
Where third-party certification services ( e.g NGC or PMG) are required or requested by the seller, any associated costs are advised separately and clearly in advance.
