Only 3 Others Known? The Ultra-Rare 1940 NZ Coin Set
Another remarkable rarity from Aventine Coins & Bullion — with only two others known and seldom seen on the market, even among New Zealand's coin dealers and collectors.

A Presentation Set
In 1940, New Zealand marked the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Waitangi.
To commemorate the occasion, a special Centennial halfcrown made of silver was issued, accompanied by the first year of issue of the New Zealand penny and halfpenny denominations.
These VIP examples are among the finest known of their respective coin types, presented in an official olive-green Dominion of New Zealand case to the highest-ranking government officials at the time.

Ex Bill Lampard Collection.
Only 2 Other Sets Believed to Exist
According to current research, no more than three of these sets are known to exist today.
That scarcity alone is legendary; even the national collection at Te Papa lacks an example.
Worth Thousands of Dollars
VIP Coin Sets like these are always challenging to appraise without other examples sold on the NZ market; however, we estimate that it would be worth thousands of dollars, as one of our nation’s rarest coin sets.
