Elizabeth II. 1975 New Zealand 20 Cents ( KM#36.1 ). Mint Error - Struck on foreign Hong Kong 2 Dollar ( KM#37 ) Scalloped Planchet.
The Royal Mint struck New Zealand’s 20 cent coins in 1975, along with a regular run of Hong Kong Two Dollars. Due to a mix-up, a handful of Hong Kong scalloped edge planchets were accidentally used for the New Zealand 20 cents, with an estimated 10-15 of these examples surviving.
Among the rarest New Zealand coins, whose rarity is heightened as a decimal circulation coin.
Certified as PCGS MS62. Light traces of die oil staining on the obverse, notes for meticulous accuracy. Complementary re-slabbing by NGC, our official grading service, for this item will be available in our next submission.
