PR64 | George V (1933-1936), Proof Halfcrown, 1933, bust of George V facing left, rev. Shield of Arms of the Dominion of New Zealand: a shield quartered with the Southern Cross, a wheat sheaf, a lamb suspended by a ribbon and mining hammers crossed divided by three ships, surmounted by the Royal Crown and surrounded by ornamentation inspired by Maori carvings, in PCGS holder Proof 64 ( Cert. 45210791 )
The exceptionally scarce first proof halfcrown of New Zealand upon the passing of the 1933 Coinage Act. Although Remick suggested a mintage of 20 proofs, the number that has surfaced on the open market in recent decades is noticeably lower.
